Did you know Willie Nelson once shot at his son-in-law?
Back in the early '70s Willie Nelson discovered his daughter, Lana, was being abused by her husband, Steve. After hearing the news, willie went straight to Steve’s house to gently warn him about what would happen if he ever laid a hand on his daughter again. After the discussion, Steve showed up at Willie’s house armed with a .22 rifle and fired at him, barely missing Willie’s head. In response, Willie grabbed his M-1 rifle firing back, running the abusive coward off his property for good.
This dramatic shootout inspired Willie’s later hit “Shot gun Willie” and cemented Willie’s legendary status as a bad ass outlaw.
