Product Information

What is the difference between a paper and a canvas print?

A canvas print or giclée is a reproduction of an original painting onto museum-quality canvas using the highest caliber of ink possible so that it has the dimensional sheen of paint. A paper print is a reproduction of an original painting onto museum-quality paper using high-quality pigmented archival ink.

What is the difference between standard and unique framing?

Unique frames from LX Artworks are completely one-of-a-kind or limited antiques. These are locally sourced from antique shows, estate sales, and boutiques. Oftentimes they are carefully restored, and gold leafed in our studio by the hand of the artist or another art professional on our team. Because of their rarity and beauty, unique frames are priced higher than standard framing options. None of our frames are sold separately from the art. LX Artworks standard framing styles have been mindfully hand-selected by our curatorial team to match the integrity and style of the artist. While they are not one-of-a-kind like our unique frames, they are of the highest quality available.

Original Paintings & Commissions

An original painting begins as a blank canvas. The artist uses acrylic paint to render a 100% unique work of art. Because original paintings are a 100% irreplicable work of fine art, they are the highest-end item we offer.

What is an embellished giclée?

An embellished giclée is a print on canvas using the highest caliber of ink so that it has the look and sheen of paint. However, it has added details that are hand-painted by the artist to add unique, bespoke elements that make the reproduction one-of-a-kind. The artist can change the color of an item of clothing, add a special accessory, or even add a slogan or catchphrase as per the commissioner’s request. The price of embellishments depends on the level of intricacy of the requested details.

What is the difference between a print and an original painting?

A print is a reproduction of an original painting made with ink on canvas or paper. After the artist finishes a painting, we professionally scan it to make a digital copy from which we render all our paper and canvas prints in-house. All prints are signed by the artist and numbered.
